About Me
Jo-Jo Tabayoyong Murphy
I grew up in a family that believed each person had
something special to share. We are passionate about our
interests. I feel blessed to be able to use my talents to make
music, write observations about my world and enjoy life.
I know that everyone is brilliant in some way. I do what I can
to honor, appreciate and highlight that spark.
I have played the cello for almost forty years. I studied for
four years with Rosalie Ernest at The American
Conservatory of Music in Chicago. I have performed in
symphonies, pit orchestras, ensembles, and as a soloist.
These days, I perform at weddings, religious services,
concerts, fund raisers, parties and other special events. I am
fortunate to know many skilled and gifted musicians, so I
work with them on jobs, too.
There are several recordings of my work. I created a
relaxation CD with my friend, Mary Horngren, entitled
"Motherhood: Keeping the Balance, a Relaxation Break for
Moms." It is available on CDBaby.com and directly from me.
I have also recorded on "Lakeshore Escape" with Lisa
Boggess and Manuel Alvarez, "Breathe" with Walter
Tabayoyong, "State of Mind" with Keith Uchima, and
"Resting Place" with Rich Rubietta. All of these CDs are
available from me, Gallery's Choice or on-line.
Music adds an air of elegance, sophistication, flair and joy to
any occasion! Keep me in mind if you would like to add
music to your celebration or event.
